As a group decision to not have a late night i was wondering why Liam,
Yosha and i were all running home at almost 3 in the morning knowing we had to
get up at 5 to catch a bus to Vera Cruz for our adventure filled wkend.
Amazingly after a less than 2hrs of sleep we all managed to get up and make our
way to the uni in time to meet up with our fellow adventurers who
many had not even bothered sleeping and just came straight from partying.
The bus trip was somewhat average but i saw some pretty cool and very different vegetation along the road which went from almost the coldest weather i've experienced to being warm enough to go white water rafting. Upon arriving to mexicoverde we were shown to our safari style tents.
After a few quick instructions in Spanish and a short bus ride we were
sitting in rafts on rio pescado and then the next thing I knew our raft was
jammed against the first massive rock and quickly filling with water. Meanwhile I had be sucked out
of the raft and was just kinda rafting freestyle on my ass down the rocks until
i managed to get my feet wedged into some rocks to stop and get pulled back
into the boat but then a Liam came out of nowhere and smashed into me and off
we went again until finally a rope was thrown and we were pulled to
what seemed to be the safety of the raft.
When the water was calm we all jumped in for a splash.
Izquierda(left) y derecha(right) two very important spanish words that some people just couldn't get causing a few problems with paddling.
We stopped along the way for some snacks and refreshments.
and also for a quick jump off a rock.
Watching the other rafts bounce down some rapids.
This is the good stuff, amazingly everyone is still on the raft at this point.
Back at camp we decided not to bother with some suana thing that had
been arranged and just catch up on sleep until it was dinner time. Dinner was
buffet style, setup outside under these big trees full of wikkid lights was
goods.
Waking in my tent with my legs covered in the almost itchest bites i've ever had, i gee´d myself up to go face my fear of heights, the crew jump a bus for a short ride to town where we started our steady incline up a mountain past some amazingly noisy donkey's i have never b4 had the privilege of witnessing the absoluteness of a donkey going eey aww eey aww so close up, makes me laugh and pretty much makes me laugh every time i think about it, anyways after a quite steep climb we ended a fair way up a mountain b4 we even got to the cliffs we were to climb i started freakin out a bit but then decided it had to be done.
once hooked up to my harness i felt safe as and i tried climbing which is quite more difficult than others had made it look,
especially the crazy Chileano guy who lives in a hole in the mountain side and just scales the rocks in bare feet and no ropes, i didn't do to well as i kept using my arms to much and i tired quite quickly anyways i made it a up a bit, enough for a photo so i was happy.
Yosha's view from the top. Just before he lets go and i get a massive wedgie.
Some of the climbing crew.
The hardest, well scariest thing i made myself do in the end was going on this massive swing which pretty much just swung out over the edge of the cliff, was exhilarating!!!
