Time to leave antigua nello and i decide to mission to lake atitlan. The bus rides in guatemala are not only full of epic views of mountains and volcanoes but they are also an adrenilin fueled experince that keeps ur heart beating at a decent pace. Climbing over many mountains and passing through many very guatemalan towns the bus never really ceased to amaze us at the inappropriate times it would overtake, the bad thing is that our bus was actually considerably safer than many of the other cars on the road. Its best to just focus on the insane beauty of the country side and not the cliff edge that is also the road edge. As we came cursing around a corner after a quick couple of hours we were delited to see probably one of the most out of control beautiful lakes which was surrounded by at least 3 volcanoes.
The driver stopped so we could get a few pics and take in the absolute awesomeness. Arriving in town we decided to catch a boat across to san pedro another small town on the otherside of the lake, me encanta boats. It was a slightly bumpy ride as the lake had some swell caused by a bit of wind in the afternoon. In san pedro nello and i found a place to crash for 25Q a night (i think thats like $US3 or 4) it was nothing special but u could climb up to the roof which had a view that was priceless. As the trip to this beautiful place felt like an adventure in itself there was no need for us to do anything that night so we had some dinner and grabbed a 6pack to accompany us on the roof for some star gazing b4 heading to bed and contemplating the adventure that tomorrow will bring!!!!
